Leicester defender Wesley Fofana makes ‘dream’ transfer admission
Fofana’s Leicester City stint
Fofana made the switch to Leicester City during the 2020 summer transfer window.
The central defender arrived from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne. And, despite remaining just 20 years of age, Leicester are believed to have paid a fee which could eventually rise to £30m for the youngster.
In spite of his limited experience at the top level, though, Fofana has already been able to establish himself as a key figure for the Foxes.
The France under-21 international has notched 28 Premier League appearances to date, as well as six in the Europa League under Brendan Rodgers.
All of this has come with the Marseille-born star boasting just two real years of top-flight experience.
Fofana speaks on dream move
Unfortunately for both Leicester and the player, Fofana would suffer a horrific injury in pre-season vs Villareal.
The defender was stretchered off from the game and is expected to be out until 2022 with a medial ligament injury.
Whilst sidelined, Fofana has been speaking to RMC Sport and would drop a clear hint over his dream transfer move.
And, not too surprisingly, Fofana, who was born in Marseille, has stated that playing for Olympique de Marseille will always be a dream:
“OM will always be a dream.
“I’m not sure what will happen in my career; I don’t know, I can’t know.
“But it will always be a dream because it’s my city. It’s my club, the one I supported as a kid, and I still support.
“When I watch OM matches, I’m like a fan, I shout, I sing, that’s how it is, it’s my club. But between what I want and what I could do, I can’t know, so we’ll see.”
