Jurgen Klopp hints at January incomings for Liverpool to bolster forward line
Liverpool’s thin forward line
Jurgen Klopp has world-class forward options at his disposal for much of the season, with all of Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah all set to start against Leeds United this afternoon. In addition, Roberto Firmino is working his way back to full fitness, having been injured from the start of the campaign.

However, beyond this they seem thin, with only Divock Origi, a cult hero as opposed to brilliant backup, and Takumi Minamino to call upon in the wide areas. This crop was further weakened in the summer by the sale of Xherdan Shaqiri to Lyon, with no replacement being brought in before deadline day.
Klopp hints at winter additions
As a result, it is not surprising that winter additions are being looked at, with both Salah and Mane set to be unavailable due to Africa Cup of Nations duty, which will leave Klopp perilously short on options.
And, speaking ahead of the clash with Leeds, Klopp spoke of the need for solutions, revealing:
“We knew it (Salah and Mane’s absences), we have to deal with it and we will deal with it. How? We will see in January,”
“People now say we have to sign two strikers with the same quality of Sadio and Mo.
“That cannot be a solution as we cannot do that, so we have to find a solution for that in January.”
January is known to be difficult to find good value in the transfer window, and with money tight at Anfield at the moment amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, could loans be the “solution” that Jurgen Klopp hints at?
